As we come to the end of 2009 it's important to reflect on how far we've come, not just in our careers but in our personal lives too. For Señor Paella, 2009 has been another phenomenal 12 months, keeping up our growth rate of doubling turnover on the previous financial year. On the Sunshine Coast alone that means over 9000 portions of paella. That's a lot of parties, a host of wonderful clients and a huge sense of achievement.

So, before the year is out, we wanted to take the opportunity to congratulate all those people who have taken even the smallest step towards becoming part of this success and spotlight for you an article which appeared in The Australian Financial Times. Written by Hayes Knight Accountants & Business Advisors under the title, 'Doing Nothing Not the Answer,' the article states,

'Interestingly, the demand for franchises next year should increase. One reason for this is that we are likely to see job cuts at corporations. Some of those made redundant, perhaps in their mid 40's or 50's, will decide their best option is to buy a job and become self-employed. Franchises typically benefit as they are seen as a safer, easier entry into business because of the brand and support systems provided.

This activity is likely to emerge in the second half of next year, and its extent will influence the availability and price of franchises. Whilst there is reason for caution, the answer is not to do nothing.'

As we've said before, buying a franchise is a life changing decision that cannot be taken lightly.
